The Blacktail Complex Fire - Report - wildfire, North Daktoa Badlands, August 26, 2000 - a lightning storm ignited about 50 fires, burning 6000 acres including parts of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, USDA Forest Sevice Dakota Prairie National Grasslands, and other state and private lands - finally brought under control by September 9th, at peak staffing this fire engaged one helicopter, 14 engine companies and about 140 firefighters
